Of cubist style, it highlights the figure of a cat with abstract expressionism. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Although the studio continues to operate, these pieces are unrepeatable. <\/span> <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p><b>History of AW Pottery Studio<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Aw Ceramic Studio was founded by Aw Eng-Kwang in the mid-1940s. The studio had a humble beginning making latex cups for the rubber industry and later became a renowned artistic center.  <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Eng-Kwang&#8217;s talent was never recognized until he participated in the First Sculpture Exhibition of Singapore in 1967 and in a solo sculpture exhibition in Kuala Lumpur in 1968. Eng-Kwang&#8217;s natural creativity and his magical craftsmanship drove the success of Aw Pottery. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Aw ceramic chandeliers, lampshades, and sculptures were widely used in major international hotels in Singapore and Malaysia, such as the Hilton.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In 1980, Eng-Kwang decided to retire in California until his death in 1996.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Without Eng-Kwang, the splendor of Aw Pottery slowly faded over several years.
